Tell me about your dream job.

My dream job is the place where there is a freedom of thoughts and freedom of operations and working. There should be cooperativeness among the workers.

Boss should believe his subordinates and he should delegate the work equally among others.

Discuss how you make important decisions?

Usually when I take an important decision, I look for all the advantages and disadvantages of all the possibilities.

 And also I will consider the result of all the choices in the past.

Do you consider yourself successful?

Yeah, very much, because I completed my schooling and college studies with good marks and I learnt more from my last job. Even though I am unemployed right now it’s not end of the road, its just bend of the road, so I have confident on me.

Why you secured less marks in college when compared to school?

In my school days I concentrated on my studies only, but in college days I learned how to communicate and I developed my reasoning abilities.

Moreover school syllabus is very much low I mean 5 subjects in 10 months, but in college 6 subjects in 5 months. But I realize now I could have scored more in college.

Have you ever managed anyone?

One time when I was appointed as team leader for an internal project called DPTS, my team members were not performing their extend due to lack of interest in that project, that time I managed my team members by explaining all the difficulties we may face if we did not complete the work and made them realize the situation and finished the project successfully.

What are your roles and responsibilities in your last job?

When I was working for my earlier company I was taking the roles and responsibilities of a software developer. A developer has to do analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance.

Are you a Team Player?

Yeah very much, because I played both team member and team leader positions in various projects at my last job. I was taken a role of team leader for internal project called DPTS with four team members. And I had played team member role for main project called Easy FIDS. So I believe that I will be performing well at both team leader and team member.

If you were hiring a person for this job, what would you look for?

If I am in the position to hire a person for the clerical post for your banking corporation, I will first check whether the person is trustworthy. Second I look for aptitude and problem solving capability with accuracy of time. Finally I look for his communication skills and tolerance power he has when working with public.

What qualities do you look for in a boss?

The successful leader should understand the human nature, their basic needs and ability, and also they need to understand that people need security as well as independence at the same time.

How do you organize your priorities?

When there is a need to prioritize the jobs, which are needs to be done. I will write down the jobs and I will give marks in between 1 to 10 and 1 means its priority is very low, 10 means very high priority job, and 5 means it’s having medium priority.

What has been your biggest professional disappointment?

I was appointed as team leader for an internal project called DPTS. This project does not end till my last date due to lack of interest of team members. During project review time, my project manager blamed me for incompletion pf project. After that I explained the critical situation to my boss and team member and done the project successfully before the next review meeting.

What would you do for growth of this company?

I have large number of friends network, so definitely I will introduce many number of customers. I will do my work with extra care especially while giving loan to customers. I am good in analytical things so I will work perfectly with loan assessment.

Which type of job gives you greatest satisfaction?

I will be satisfied with job with challenges and job security. I would like to take challenges at my work place and in my life.

Have you ever been fired or forced to resign?

Yeah, I am not forced to resign for any personal reason, but they gave pink notice due to lay-off.

Explain how would you be an asset to this organization?

Employees are an asset of their organization. I will try my best to promote my organization. I will bring more customers to our bank and finish the transaction in minimum time period and work as customer friendly banker.

What is more important to you: the money or the work?

Both money and work is important to our life. But work is more important than money.

What makes you angry?

In modern science there are tow kinds of thermal instruments. One is thermometer, which increases in level when heat applied. Another one is thermostat, which changes its internal condition in order to maintain the heat level as it.

I am like thermostat; I won’t get angry I react upon the situation.

Would you lie for the company?

I will never do anything to hurt my company. So it depends upon the situation to decide what to do and what not to do.

What are your long-term and short-term Goals?

My Lifetime goal is to be a good person. My long-term goal is to stick with a growth-oriented organization and to grow along with it, and my present short-time goal is to get job in suitable organization and to know nook and corner of operations with in the organization.

What are your outside interests?

I am patron of local library and my school. I gave some part of my first salary to my school.

What irritates you about your co-workers?

I won’t get irritated any time because I am not like thermometer I am like thermostats when it gets heated it will keep it's temper as constant. But if my job gets deadlocked I mean stopped because of others incomplete work, that time I will be disappointed.

What will you do if conflict occurs between you and your boss?

Conflict occurs because of misunderstanding. So if there is any conflict between my boss, and me I will ask him to give some time for me to explain my point of view, so that we can achieve mutual understanding. Even if it is not solved I will go with my boss, because he is superior to me and has more experienced than me.

If we offer this job, will you accept?

Yes sir, with pleasure, for that moment to be happen only I have been waiting for years and years. So, I will be happy that my first job itself a best job.

If we are not offering this job, what will you do?

To be a banker is my dream job. So, if  I was not selected to this post, I honestly say that I will worry for some time. But quickly I will recover , and  I will search another job temporally and I will try for next year and so on.

Organization behavior is the study and application of  knowledge, about how people, individuals, groups act in an organization.

A Leader should be the bearer of the dream and stimulator of the change. Leader focuses on doing right things.

Define Stress.

Stress is our internal response to situation we find hard to manage. Stress is not cause but it’s a effect of a unexpected cause.

I believe, Success lies in the middle of the last breath that comes, after completion of a task.

Innovative is being, or producing some thing, like nothing experienced before, or created before.

Define Initiative.

Initiative is doing right things with out being told.

In other words initiative is attitude of changing impossible into I am possible.

What are three best qualities?

According to me…Confidence, trust worthy, Self-control are three best qualities, which matches to my character and life style.

What are the things that motivate you?

My parents blessing and belief motivates me to achieve and to do my work with responsibility.

Who is your role model?

Our former president Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam is my role model. Because he achieved beyond his extend. But unfortunately he is not with us today. But his words and dreams are everywhere around the country and I had taken an oath on his condolence that I will work hard and utilize my education to do my part in bringing our nation as super power.

I like his Quotation, “ Dream, Dream, Dream; Covert this Dream into thoughts; and then transform them into action”.

Do you like changes?

                       

Change alone can not be changed. So I like to change myself according to the situation if its needed for our organization.

Tell me about a situation when your work was criticized?

If some one through a bricks on you, you should know how to build a house using it.

If some one criticized me I will change it as a key to change and improve myself.

 One good example is that my boss criticized my work was not following coding style. I accepted it and I updated my coding style to latest trend and latter I got appreciation from boss too.

Why have you been cut of work so long?

Due to recession I lost my job, recession had been lost for one and half years. Even after recession period, I struggled to get job because of less experience.

Every company now recruiting java candidates above 2 or 3 years of experience.

Aren’t you over qualified for this job?

No sir, I don’t think so. Even if you think I am over qualified for this job, it won’t affect my working style and manners.

Tell me about some thing you did, that you now feel a little ashamed of

It was a time when there was no other senior software engineer than my boss to help me in the project.

That time I was less experienced so I asked his help now and then, he got irritated at a time. I did not know the job roles and responsibility of team leader in a small management hierarchy.

Why did you leave your last job?

I did not leave my last job for any of my personal reason; they gave pink notice, that’s why I was compelled to leave my position.

Our client minimized the number of projects because of hike in international oil price.

So our company decreased the number of workers in order to cut down expenditure and to increase the profit. So many of my co-workers lost jobs like me.

How long do you see yourself with us?

I want to make lifetime commitment with your banking organization if I got selected. But the thing is I need to grow because of you, and you need be grow because of me. Both of us should benefit because of others. I hope for the best.

What was the most enjoyable thing about your last job?

The most enjoyable thing about my last job is I learnt more technically and personally.

I get trained well in communication skills and team management and personality improvement and time management.

Can you explain your salary history?

I was getting 7200 basic pay and monthly take home of 14000 and CTS is near 2 lacs per annum.

What was wrong with your last job position?

I don’t have any bad impression on my last job, but in general there is no job security in software field. One more problem is that they will ask us to change to some other new technologies with out proper training.

If you took the job what would you accomplish in the first year?

It depends on the job description. In general I will introduce more new customers than others. If I get cash teller job , I can finish the transaction with minimum time period and make customer friendly service and productive work.

What Positions do you expect to have in 5 years?

If  I got selected as a clerk in your bank, I would like to take promotional exams to become probationary officer. I would like to work in next hierarchy level of job in 5 years.

What are your weak points?

I honestly say that I don’t have any major weak points. But I get disappointed when my work is disturbed by incompletion of others work.

What are your Strong Points?

Basically I am a smart worker, I strongly believe that analytical reasoning ability and problem solving ability are my strong points and also I am good at communication skills. I would like to work with people and I have good tolerance power to work among public.

What are you career goals?

My career goal is to stick with a growth-oriented organization and to grow personally along it.

Have you kept up in this field with additional training?

Yes sir, after I applied for banking jobs, I decided to apply for Diploma in Banking and Finance through IIBF and now I am going through the study materials very sincerely. And also I have done Commercial Banking Certificate in NCFM certificate through NSE-IT.

Have you developed any new skills lately related to this job position?

After applied for bank exams I developed my aptitude and reasoning skills with accuracy of time. I developed my speed of calculation, and also I developed my knowledge about share market and banking operations. I have gone though number of banking terminologies in Internet and understood that.

What are the other positions are you considering?

As I am unemployed right now I am trying to get job in any nationalized bank or government office. My second option is to any software company. I prefer banking domain than other posts, because it’s very much suitable to my character and skills.

How much salary do you expect if we offer you this position?

Salary is not a constraint for me to do the job; I need a job first to prove myself to others and to me.

Can you work under deadline or pressure?

With Pleasure I will work under pressure. As I told you earlier I would like to take challenges at both my life and career. So I will consider the deadline as a right time to prove my skills and my character to others and to myself.

What were the five most significant accomplishments in your career so far?

When I was working at my earlier company there was  a time, that there   were no experienced  senior software engineers to take care of the new project called Easy Flight Information Display System. At that time I took the responsibility towards it and done analysis, design , coding for three months. I proudly say that I got billing from the client for one quarter year to my company.

What do you think of your past boss?

My past boss Mr.Suri Babu is a Nice Person. He helped me a lot personally and professionally. He delegate job among the entire team member equally.

How did your previous boss help you to grow?

Whenever I face any difficulty on technical side he asked me to buy books and he will make arrangements for repay the amount by our company. He sat with me to solve the problem co-operatively. He will allow me to improve myself on my free times by providing browsing facilities.

How would you describe yourself?

I describe myself as Energetic Person. One good example for the reason why am I telling is, one day during dead-end I was working at my office till 10pm, that time my boss came to me and asked weather I am feeling tired due to heavy work, but I said I feel energetic as I finished challenging mind-blowing job.

How would your boss describe you?

My boss will describe me as a Trustworthy and Productive person.

How would your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues will describe me as helping person. I would like to help others when they are at trouble.

Why are you looking for a new career?

I lost my job due to layoff; they gave pink notice to me. In order to stabilize in my life, I go for new career. Actually my father will retire from his job by coming June month, so I need to get job soon.

What do you believe is the most difficult part of being a banker?

I don’t think it’s a most difficult thing, but it’s a challenging thing.

We should not make mistake in money calculations, we should be very careful in it.

While doing other job we should not be money-minded people. But for being a banker we should be money minded people and always has to think about money and how to handle money and trust of others.

I strongly believe that I will be working with great enthusiasm right from the first day itself, but it will take at least 3 to 6 months to make a meaningful contribution.

For being a Banker, One should be very Honest and Trustworthy, and he should be capable of solving problems and he should posses a good Reasoning ability.

Moreover a good banker should have good communication skills and willingness to work for public.

I expect freedom of thoughts and freedom of operations in a job; moreover I would like to work in co-operative environment.

What can you do for us , that someone else can not?

As I was working as software engineer, I understood the development of software products deeply. As everyone says, a creator knows more about the product than others.

What is the difference between Leader and Manager?

 Leaders focuses on doing Right things …. And…. Managers focuses on doing Things right….

Differentiate Hard worker , and  Smart worker.

I just explain the different by some example. If you ask a hard worker to cut down the tree with an axe, he will finish the job in 6 hours by his hard work.

But Smart worker will first take 1 hour to sharpen the axe and he will finish the job in 3 hours.  In simple, smart worker plans well before doing any job when compared to hard worker.

Why did you choose Computer Science for your academic?

Now days the world is ruled by computers.

Every department has been computerized in all public and private sectors.

So, job opportunity is more for the person who is having good computer skills.

That’s why I had chosen computer science degree.

Well , I am Balu from Polur near Thiruvannamalai , I am a BE graduate in Computer Science and Engineering , I secured 70% aggregate , I did my engineering at Arunai Engineering College.

Professionally talking I was working in Java, J2EE technologies for Airlines Domain. I worked for two projects called USPS-United States Postal Service and Easy FIDS – easy Flight Information display Systems.

Unfortunately our client minimized number of projects due to hike in Oil Price. As the productivity is decreased our company decreased the number of employees in order to increase the profit. So many of the associate software engineers lost jobs like me.
