Tell me about a situation when your work was criticized?

If some one through a bricks on you, you should know how to build a house using it.

If some one criticized me I will change it as a key to change and improve myself.

 One good example is that my boss criticized my work was not following coding style. I accepted it and I updated my coding style to latest trend and latter I got appreciation from boss too.

Why have you been cut of work so long?

Due to recession I lost my job, recession had been lost for one and half years. Even after recession period, I struggled to get job because of less experience.

Every company now recruiting java candidates above 2 or 3 years of experience.

Aren’t you over qualified for this job?

No sir, I don’t think so. Even if you think I am over qualified for this job, it won’t affect my working style and manners.

Tell me about some thing you did, that you now feel a little ashamed of

It was a time when there was no other senior software engineer than my boss to help me in the project.

That time I was less experienced so I asked his help now and then, he got irritated at a time. I did not know the job roles and responsibility of team leader in a small management hierarchy.

Why did you leave your last job?

I did not leave my last job for any of my personal reason; they gave pink notice, that’s why I was compelled to leave my position.

Our client minimized the number of projects because of hike in international oil price.

So our company decreased the number of workers in order to cut down expenditure and to increase the profit. So many of my co-workers lost jobs like me.

How long do you see yourself with us?

I want to make lifetime commitment with your banking organization if I got selected. But the thing is I need to grow because of you, and you need be grow because of me. Both of us should benefit because of others. I hope for the best.

What was the most enjoyable thing about your last job?

The most enjoyable thing about my last job is I learnt more technically and personally.

I get trained well in communication skills and team management and personality improvement and time management.

Can you explain your salary history?

I was getting 7200 basic pay and monthly take home of 14000 and CTS is near 2 lacs per annum.

What was wrong with your last job position?

I don’t have any bad impression on my last job, but in general there is no job security in software field. One more problem is that they will ask us to change to some other new technologies with out proper training.

If you took the job what would you accomplish in the first year?

It depends on the job description. In general I will introduce more new customers than others. If I get cash teller job , I can finish the transaction with minimum time period and make customer friendly service and productive work.

What Positions do you expect to have in 5 years?

If  I got selected as a clerk in your bank, I would like to take promotional exams to become probationary officer. I would like to work in next hierarchy level of job in 5 years.

What are your weak points?

I honestly say that I don’t have any major weak points. But I get disappointed when my work is disturbed by incompletion of others work.

What are your Strong Points?

Basically I am a smart worker, I strongly believe that analytical reasoning ability and problem solving ability are my strong points and also I am good at communication skills. I would like to work with people and I have good tolerance power to work among public.

What are you career goals?

My career goal is to stick with a growth-oriented organization and to grow personally along it.

Have you kept up in this field with additional training?

Yes sir, after I applied for banking jobs, I decided to apply for Diploma in Banking and Finance through IIBF and now I am going through the study materials very sincerely. And also I have done Commercial Banking Certificate in NCFM certificate through NSE-IT.

Have you developed any new skills lately related to this job position?

After applied for bank exams I developed my aptitude and reasoning skills with accuracy of time. I developed my speed of calculation, and also I developed my knowledge about share market and banking operations. I have gone though number of banking terminologies in Internet and understood that.

What are the other positions are you considering?

As I am unemployed right now I am trying to get job in any nationalized bank or government office. My second option is to any software company. I prefer banking domain than other posts, because it’s very much suitable to my character and skills.

How much salary do you expect if we offer you this position?

Salary is not a constraint for me to do the job; I need a job first to prove myself to others and to me.

Can you work under deadline or pressure?

With Pleasure I will work under pressure. As I told you earlier I would like to take challenges at both my life and career. So I will consider the deadline as a right time to prove my skills and my character to others and to myself.

What were the five most significant accomplishments in your career so far?

When I was working at my earlier company there was  a time, that there   were no experienced  senior software engineers to take care of the new project called Easy Flight Information Display System. At that time I took the responsibility towards it and done analysis, design , coding for three months. I proudly say that I got billing from the client for one quarter year to my company.

What do you think of your past boss?

My past boss Mr.Suri Babu is a Nice Person. He helped me a lot personally and professionally. He delegate job among the entire team member equally.

How did your previous boss help you to grow?

Whenever I face any difficulty on technical side he asked me to buy books and he will make arrangements for repay the amount by our company. He sat with me to solve the problem co-operatively. He will allow me to improve myself on my free times by providing browsing facilities.

How would you describe yourself?

I describe myself as Energetic Person. One good example for the reason why am I telling is, one day during dead-end I was working at my office till 10pm, that time my boss came to me and asked weather I am feeling tired due to heavy work, but I said I feel energetic as I finished challenging mind-blowing job.

How would your boss describe you?

My boss will describe me as a Trustworthy and Productive person.

How would your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues will describe me as helping person. I would like to help others when they are at trouble.

Why are you looking for a new career?

I lost my job due to layoff; they gave pink notice to me. In order to stabilize in my life, I go for new career. Actually my father will retire from his job by coming June month, so I need to get job soon.

What do you believe is the most difficult part of being a banker?

I don’t think it’s a most difficult thing, but it’s a challenging thing.

We should not make mistake in money calculations, we should be very careful in it.

While doing other job we should not be money-minded people. But for being a banker we should be money minded people and always has to think about money and how to handle money and trust of others.

How long would it take for you to make meaningful contribution?

I strongly believe that I will be working with great enthusiasm right from the first day itself, but it will take at least 3 to 6 months to make a meaningful contribution.

What Skills and Qualifications are essential for success in the position of Banker?

For being a Banker, One should be very Honest and Trustworthy, and he should be capable of solving problems and he should posses a good Reasoning ability.

Moreover a good banker should have good communication skills and willingness to work for public.

What do you look for in a job?

I expect freedom of thoughts and freedom of operations in a job; moreover I would like to work in co-operative environment.

What can you do for us , that someone else can not?

As I was working as software engineer, I understood the development of software products deeply. As everyone says, a creator knows more about the product than others.

So I can work with banking software effectively. I hope this is the thing that I can do for you and others may not.

What is the difference between Leader and Manager?

 Leaders focuses on doing Right things …. And…. Managers focuses on doing Things right….

Differentiate Hard worker , and  Smart worker.

I just explain the different by some example. If you ask a hard worker to cut down the tree with an axe, he will finish the job in 6 hours by his hard work.

But Smart worker will first take 1 hour to sharpen the axe and he will finish the job in 3 hours.  In simple, smart worker plans well before doing any job when compared to hard worker.

Why did you choose Computer Science for your academic?

Now days the world is ruled by computers.

Every department has been computerized in all public and private sectors.

So, job opportunity is more for the person who is having good computer skills.

That’s why I had chosen computer science degree.

Well , I am Balu from Polur near Thiruvannamalai , I am a BE graduate in Computer Science and Engineering , I secured 70% aggregate , I did my engineering at Arunai Engineering College.

I have nearly one and half years of experience as Software Engineer at SkyTech Solutions Pvt Ltd-Chennai. It’s a Joint venture of United Airlines.

Professionally talking I was working in Java, J2EE technologies for Airlines Domain. I worked for two projects called USPS-United States Postal Service and Easy FIDS – easy Flight Information display Systems.

Unfortunately our client minimized number of projects due to hike in Oil Price. As the productivity is decreased our company decreased the number of employees in order to increase the profit. So many of the associate software engineers lost jobs like me.

Regarding my schooling, I did both of my 10^th std and 12^th std in Government Boys Higher Secondary School at Polur in Tamil medium. I got second rank at school level in both of the standards. I got 91.4 % in 10^th and 86.6 % in 12^th.
